You might pose that question to the folks at Pullmans Arms/Micro Arc Welding in Worcester.

What material is the tap stuck in? If it is non ferrous, you can soak it in an alum solution and dissolve the tap.

What size is the tap and how deep is it buried? Jack.

Found a local place , they have a FFL manufacture license and do EDM as small as .013" . Not sure if they do walk in one off work?
