Magnetic revolver

Have you guys ever noticed your barrel to be magnetic?

Do you draw from a holster, shoot lead unplated rounds? What happens when you drop it, is it still magnetic?

I haven't dropped it to tell. I do shoot many cast bullet loads. Rarely holstered.
I suppose I could degauss it, but it doesn't seem to pull the bullets back from the target enough to bother.

Which direction is the gun oriented when it's stored? If you keep it so the barrel is parallel to the N-S magnetic flux of the Earth, it will become naturally magnetized. Keep it stored E-W for best results.

I see this as a feature. Much easier to mount a bayonet now.

Most machine shops will have a de-magnetizer if its an issue. I would watch for metal splinters in the barrel- not good.

I had to go back to the picture to see what was so nice about it...then I got it . Sometimes I'm a little slow on the uptake. Hey, I'm Swedish...waddaya want?
