I wanted to start a thread I hope to be used as a sticky that would contain basic information about all the clubs in the state, broken down by region. I was thinking something along the lines of the Color Licensing Guide thread where I could update the OP and few following posts (in the event of character limits) as the master list.

The main purpose of this thread isn't to provide an end-all-be-all list of MA gun clubs, but to provide an at-a-glace view for shooters considering the facilities they want as a potential members. This helps in trying to find this info in what are often hard to navigate club websites that may or may not have that info to begin with.

The clubs are broken down by region as best as possible. I've done my best to make judgements as to the best regions to place clubs in. For example, if you're up along Route 2, your potential clubs split between Metrowest/Worcester County and the North Shore. Try checking both categories.

To add to that, clubs are listed by alphabetical order of the municipality of the region they located in. Note that many clubs are named after particular municipalities but are not actually located in that city or town. For example, Southborough Rod and Gun Club is in Hopkinton, and The Rod and Gun Club of New Bedford is in Dartmouth. It is recommended you use "Ctrl+F" and use your browser's search function to locate clubs cities and towns near you.

More in-dept info for gun clubs can also be found here using these additional links:

Listing by Alphabetical Order and County: http://www.massgunclubs.org/mass_gun_clubs.htm
National Shooting Sports Foundation Range Lookup: http://wheretoshoot.org/Find_Range/index.asp
MA Sportsmen's Club Guide: http://www.directoryma.com/MAAssociations-And-Organizations/MassachusettsRodAndGunClubs.html
Massachusetts Sportsmen's Council Website: http://www.masportsmen.org/
Google Earth Map of MA gun clubs: http://www.northeastshooters.com/vbulletin/threads/3971-Google-Earth-Map-of-MA-gun-clubs

I like working off this list here, but I find members tend to have a bit more insight than can often be found on the websites. Plus, some are outdated.

This is only for clubs, not for just ranges?

These all fall under the auspices of the Massachusetts Sportsmen's Council, or is this who you are doing it for?

There is also this:
GOAL Affiliated Clubs Page

and this:
Google Earth Map of MA gun clubs

The reason I wanted to do this thread was mainly so people can compare clubs side by side when considering joining. My eye was to clubs with ranges, given this a shooting forum, though I don't see an issue adding in other clubs.

We have a lot of good threads regarding details for individual clubs, but they're scattered all over the site in various sub forums and in time, making them hard to find.

This is an attempt to make the basic info on each club easier to obtain.

Another source of links. It would be great to get these all ln one place:

Then a matrix or database would be the best bet here. That way, people can search by what they are looking for.

Rob, few HSA questions.....

-Does HSA allow -safe- (eg, belt mounted, not shoulder type) holster work on the indoor range and the outdoor pistol bays?

-Can people set up their own steel in the outdoor pistol bays? (For example, if I wanted to bring 2 or 3 pistol A-zone plates and hang them off stands in a bay would that be allowed?)

-Any guest limitations? (other than the obvious ones, like members get priority for a lane/bench, etc. )

Thanks,

-Mike
