LTC renewal in Wakefield - the way it should be

My LTC - All Lawful Purpose is due to expire in October 2007. In July I got the renewal notice from the CHSB - they obviously got my change of address that I filed when I moved here <2 years ago.

On 8/14 I dropped in at the Wakefield PD, friendly Officer Meehan gave me the renewal paperwork and sat down with me to enter the info, take my pic, etc.

My renewed LTC - ALP came in yesterday's mail...25 days from start to finish.

What a refreshing surprise, given all the horror stories I read here!

Similar experience in Wrentham. Dropped off the APP and check after hours and the folks still on duty were very accomodating (processed my picture and prints even though official office hours were over). Got the renewal three weeks later, no problems.

I was about to point out that the way it SHOULD be is that the CLEO looks at you in confusion and says "Permit? Why do you need a permit to carry your gun?".
