Littleton Residents - We need your help!!! - FFL Attack underway

It also says the commissioner of the department of criminal justice information services shall supply said record book. I asked them for one, you can probably guess how that went.
Make sure you handle this in writing. Is it stated in written law that "criminal justice information services shall supply said record book"? If so, got the cite?

Sorry @Whiskeywon , wrong reference

MGL 140 123

"...Second, That every licensee shall, before delivery of a firearm, rifle or shotgun, make or cause to be made a true, legible entry in a sales record book to be furnished by the commissioner of the department of criminal justice information services and to be kept for that purpose..."

You can read the rest of the citation at https://malegislature.gov/Laws/GeneralLaws/PartI/TitleXX/Chapter140/Section123

During my MIRCS training I was informed that use of MIRCS satisfied this requirement along with a bunch of other clauses in Section 123.

Make sure you handle this in writing. Is it stated in written law that "criminal justice information services shall supply said record book"? If so, got the cite?
Says they shall supply at no more than cost. But still understand his point. View attachment 313442

Inspecting officer: where's the coffee?
Hand him coffee
Inspecting officer: where's the $250.00 fee?
Hand him the $$
Inspecting officer: you pass, see you next year

Since it is a bylaw amendment it should have to go to the AGs Office for review / acceptance prior to adoption by the Town. A long shot but perhaps worth having an attorney review to see if any defects or conflicts exist against existing state / federal laws or regulations.

This bylaw does not comply with MA law due to preemption. State law has addressed the issue of dealer licensing and inspections with sufficient specificity that a municipality does not have a right to go further.

People frequently don't understand MA law on this point, but it is not friendly to municipalities that try to supplant state law in this way. If the AG's office approves the bylaw, you guys should sue on this. You would win.

It will fade away like everything else. The folks at the Littleton PD only worry about three things: How many vacation days left this year, how many years to retirement and where they parked their car. Meanwhile, Boston ATF is continuing to approve FFL applicants. Jack.
HA!HA! That's what it's all about.
