If you are on Medicare, and also on the VA Healthcare program, you are not required to have Medicare Part B!
You can cancel your Medicare Part B and not have to pay the $170 a month that is deducted from your Social Security!
Most Vets I meet at the VA are not aware of this
And the folks at SS will not tell you about this, nor will the VA.
I have posted this here before, but we are getting more retired members here so thought I would post it again. You wouldn't believe how many Vets I have met at the VA who are on Social Security and are needlessly paying for Part B !

Edit to add: if you go on the SS website, you can download a simple form and all you have to do is state you on VA Healtcare and sign it and mail it in.

Thank you for this info. My uncle is a Navy Vietnam era vet on VA healthcare -I’ll pass this along to him as I doubt he is aware.
