J or K frame ????

I've seen posts about S&W revolver J & K frames . What exactly is the difference ? I have Ruger GP100 and SP101 . Are they j or k frames or niether ?

Neither. J and K frames refer to Smith and Wesson revolvers. J frames are smaller than Ks. An Airweight snub nose .38 Special is a J-frame.

Your GP100 almost exactly the same size as a S&W L frame (a bit larger than the K frame).
GP100s usually fit properly in holsters made for L frames.
The SP101 is about the same size, perhaps just a tiny bit larger, than a S&W J frame.
While you can usually find holsters or speedloaders that will interchage, grips and other parts are completely different.

J,K,N frames s&w's. An L frame would fit somewhere between the K and N size.
