You should look into some hogue grips for it. I recently put a set on my 229 and it feels so natural now its like I'm holding my......ah, it feels really natural. Thats all.

I've stayed away from Hogue grips on my other Sig's (P225 and P226) because they were significantly "thicker" than the OEM grip. Do you find this to be the case with the P229 grips?

Yea they are slightly thicker. Not as thick as some other hogue grips I have but definately a little thicker.
