Shot a doe on Mon in RI. She weighed 120 lbs dressed. Got it back from the processors. 27 lbs of meat. Does that sound right? I was thinking between 40 and 50.

sounds VERY low to me... I'm sure the processor will sell you a good amount of venison jerky... I'd have thought it would be at least 50%...then again, I'd want 90+%. No waste, give it to me all after you process it.... you can drain the blood and fluids though.

Looks garbled but still readible like this:
42 in chest is a 210 lb deer live weight, dressing out at 170 lbs., and yielding 94 lbs of edible meat.

where did you shoot it? sometimes you lose a lot of meat if you shoot it in the hind quarters. Also I would say that it sounds a little low, but there is a lot of people throwing away meat that has bullet or slug fragments in it due to the lead issues that have came about this past year.

Not only where did you shoot it, but what cuts (if any) did you ask for?
If you said something like roasts and steaks only, there might be considerably less meat. I usually end up with about 10 lbs. of stew/hamburger "leftovers" with deer? Some people want nothing other than steaks?
Sounds like your butcher may be filling his freezer..little by little though...

sounds like he took some of your catch and filled his fridge at home.
