I don’t remember it being this bad before... has the left gotten more powerful? Has the media just caved into them that much more?? Maybe it was a bad then and I just don’t recall? Social media playing things out to be worse?

I feel like schools are brainwashing children so the next generation is genuinely fearful of all firearms.

Left is going crazy like I have never seen before.
 
The voices are louder because the left still feels like the election was stolen, and the media has thus been their avenue to vent frustration daily.

I too am worried about the brainwashed kids. Millenials, on the large part are actually more pro gun than our parents, but these idiot gen "Z"s are falling victim to brainwashing.

Yesterday a middle school kid came into my pawn shop, and I asked him about the walkout. After a bit of chatting I asked, "Who is leading this walkout?" his reply, "The principal..."

Disgusting.
 
Legislatively there was a lot more risk in 2013, but I feel like the anti 2a side has gained a lot more ground culturally since then. The anti NRA stuff and the student movement associated with the most recent wave are my only real data. Of course, we live here in a gated community of sorts so things might be a lot different in the space between MA and CA.
 
Ultrarunner hit it on the head. People who don't care about guns or are smart enough to realize that taking them away aren't going to change anything, but who hate Trump, know that it was the gun community that got him elected. They need to be careful here though cuz they're screwing with their rights too. Start down that rabbit hole and where does it end

The gun community did not get Trump elected. The American people did, period, full stop.

This is true but I really don't understand how the mostly well off white suburban kids feel like they have been failed by anything other than the most successful and thus coddling civilization in the history of humanity? Want teenage gun violence, go to Chicago, Baltimore, or sub saharan Africa...

Want to feel like you're a victim? Be a white, liberal, upper middle class teenager.

Five years ago the boogie man was only fictional. Now it is all too real.
The left needed focus for their anger and they have found it.

Polls have shown growing support for gun control. Based on that, I believe that now is far more dangerous.

On top of that, the antis see that their propaganda campaign is working, pushing polling in their direction.

We all know that their "solutions" will not work. In fact, these new lawrs will only impact the law-abiding, which the media will ignore. And as more shootings increase, they will seek their next pound of flesh (another piece of our cake). Wash, rinse, repeat.

Good point. That's why the NRA should be doubling down on getting the kids on board. "See, the government let you down, the police can let you down, only you can take care of yourself. And when you get older and have a family that you adore, you need to protect them too. Good luck doing that w/o arms.". Something along those lines.
 
In July of 2013 I was in Anchorage Alaska where everything is already expensive. Alaska is the biggest gun state BY FAR when it comes to culture and per capita ownership. I walked into a major gun store there that is notoriously expensive and they had 50 round boxes of HSM 9mm 115gr RN reloads for $32/box. They sold a few boxes while I was in there. All I can hope for is we don't have another ammo shortage followed by some sort of ban....

Sandy Hook was during Obama's time.....if he was blamed like PRESIDENT TRUMP, it would have been considered racist.

For sure... They were complacent with 8 years under their savior, and Trump beating out his anointed successor was like throwing gas on a fire. Combine that with the left that is in charge of all the major urban areas, basically encouraging the protests, etc.
 
OWS was the foundation for Antifa. Remember Obama's line about a civilian police force as strong as the military? The left was so sure Hillary was going to be their Eva Peron and they were going to have a permanent lock on the administrative state like the PRI had in Mexico and most other socialist parties in South America. They were so sure of finally transforming the US into a EU/South American style aristocracy via administrative state that they could taste it. The level of disdain displayed by the civil service for citizenry and the utter contempt if not voiding of the rule of law makes it very clear where we were headed until Trump slammed the brakes on them. This is why they are so enraged.

The "right" could be unified against the Obama administration with nothing to loose and everything to gain. This same scenario doesn't necessarily play out the same way now that they are the controlling party. Those in power are looking to maintain that power at whatever cost.

Media/MSM/anti PR wise? 10x worse, easily. The trumpettes aint going to like this, but IMHO his presence makes it worse, with the ginned up hysteria and all since his election.

In terms of true memetic effects- as in terms of what actually will happen- The jury is still out on that one. We have a perspective noise problem in MA because we're surrounded by moonbats and RINOs on a good day, so its easy to think that the sky is falling and everyone wants to ban all the guns.

It's quite obvious the antis have been coordinating and masturbating furiously over this possibility since sandy hook happened.

Have any of you guys ever been contacted by one of these mysterious polling organizations? I haven't. . Not even in the past X elections, etc. I've never had anyone stop me on the street or anything like that, etc.

It's quite obvious that most of these polls are put up jobs by (whoever) that wants to make an issue appear a certain way, etc.

We saw the same thing with Trump polls. "Polling" probably said he was going to lose, lmao.
