Intense police shootout in Houston…

I'm sure it was more intense for the cops involved, but I was more anxious watching that cop struggling to open the gauze than I was during the actual gunfight.
Strangely, I felt no sense of urgency at all.
(See below).

The bystanders who decided to just stick around during a firefight are stupid for doing so. Equally as stupid for then deciding to go over by the shooter once he's dropped.
Yahbut imagine having the neighbor's Nest cam's view
of the perp blasting away,
and being able to air-mail him some perfect crossfire.

In Texas no less.

What a temptation.

Neighbor's house is the backstop, though.
And people are stupid enough to be standing
in the living room, peeking at the action
through curtains as if they're bulletproof.

Double temptation to pop the guy,
slam the front door, turn the lights off,
and let the boys down at Forensics say (weeks later),
"how come everyone On The Job was shooting
9mm and 5.56, but we fished a .45 out of his gut?"

Can covid be transmitted through blood?
You only gotta hope your 1st Responder doesn’t let a little blood slow them down too much. The sh*t I’ve handled barehanded for decades hasn’t hurt me - I just don’t put my fingers in my mouth, nose or eyes before I wash up.
