Hello NES,

I bought a new rear adjustable sight for my 1911, and it says in the directions that there is no gunsmithing needed to install the sights. I have successfully removed the factory sights and have attempted to install the new ones, but I just don't want to damage the sights or the weapon.

Can anyone help me? Maybe let me know if they know anyone who can help me?

I'm sure that I'm not being forceful enough, but I am not used to doing these things to guns....I just shoot them!

I live in Marshfield, Ma and remember that there is some guy that is a pistolsmith, but don't remember who he is.

I thank you all ahead of time for any and all help....

Thanks,

If I was right down the road from him, it would be a no-brainer. Good guy, and knows what he's doing.

I agree with the folks suggesting that you take it to a gunsmith. Greg Derr can install the sights for less cost than buying a sight pusher, and he won't mar the slide finish in the process.
