I just dropped $850 on my ammo supply. After seeing the annointed ones speech last night I decided we were all doomed. Its time to stock up now folks because the messiah has plans for us all.

I did not see the speach of the messiah. Something about all the clapping drives me crazy with the speaches to congress. I think if they guy coughed they would all stand up and clap. I just don't get it. You make a two minute speach last forever with all the strange clapping. Maybe it's me. Either way I will be buying something at lunch today. Ammo?

I don't like generalizations like this (no offense, I just see it a lot). I'm an Obama supporter and I love shooting guns. Why are the two mutually exclusive? I'm an Obama supporter because there are issues that are more important to me than guns, and that may be how I differ from many people on this page.

That being said, as an Obama supporter and a fairly liberal person, I can, and have talked to other liberal people and changed their views on guns. I've taken a person who used to think that guns should be banned to the range, and now she wants to come with me whenever I go. All because I know how to talk to them.

there are issues that are more important to me than guns

You know. When there arent a dozen bills in congress trying to mess with my guns and poli's in power preaching about how evil guns are I can sit back and find other issues.

When the top to bottom is stacked against guns the way it is now I cant relax enough to think about anything else.

So far every other issue is going to be the same for the next 4 years as it was for the last 8. Flood soldiers into a country we have no business being in, maintain a global empire of bases and troops, continue funneling MY money to made-up government branches and corporations "too big to fail" and continue spying on citizens.

The only thing Obama is planning to do any differently than Bush is mess with my guns.

I just bought some ammo too with the "extra" extorted funds the bastards with their federal guns pointed at my head so generously returned to me.

Thank you lord and master government for returning a portion of my property to me. Blessed be lord government and it's infinite generosity. [angry]

Change my ass. It's more of the same with the added twist of disarmament.

I felt the change coming and majorly stocked up way before the rush. Seems I made a smart move as, obviously, prices have skyrocketed in recent months and everyone is broke.

All I can say is, buy as much as you can while you can. I'm not going to wait and see what happens. Most of us feel in our gut what what will happen. At this amazing rate of change, we might wake up tomorrow in an all new gun-free, happy joy joy land known as Hopeandchange. Ahhhhhh can you feel the Socialism?

As one example: I'm not gay, but until everyone can marry the person who they love, guns will not not my number one issue. And why should that mean we disagree on everything? Just because we disagree on gay rights, we don't have to disagree on guns or taxes.

The fact that I wouldn't be welcome here because I support Obama exemplifies one of the reasons that we don't make much headway with those who would seek to outlaw guns. You attack me even though we agree on how guns should be treated. How is this helpful for the cause? Instead of attacking me, perhaps you should try to explain to me why guns are your number one cause and why they should be mine as well. Until you try to do that, you'll never convince anyone.

Who "attacked" you ?

All I implied was that you needed a clue. Obama is ANTI-GUN, look at his voting record !

Anti-gun = anti freedom, plain & simple.

The 2nd is the last line of defense of all our other rights. Without arms the country never would have been founded. Clearly this right ranks up there, right under freedom of speech which is our 1st line of defense. What a coincidence that they were ordered that way!

You're right, I was referring to an attack that people seemed to expect. I may have overstated that.

I don't disagree that Obama is anti-gun, and I've given money to the NRA since he was elected. If I really thought Obama would be able to outlaw guns, then I would have thought twice about supporting him (let it be said that I do not support any candidate financially. When I say that I supported him, I mean that I liked him).

While I agree that anti-gun = anti-freedom, there are many other words that could be substituted for 'gun' that would still make the statement true.

I would have supported a good libertarian candidate over Obama if there had been one who I thought could win, but alas, there wasn't.

Equal opportunity enslavement Ehhh ?

So you want everyone regardless of gender to be able to enter into a 3 party contract and dont want to limit this to just a Man and Woman is that what your saying ?

Personally I would be in favor of the state totally removing themselves from the contract.

The reason you are getting strange looks and or comments is You are on a gun board stating that you support a Anti gun politician POS.

Totally illogical .

I understand why I'm getting strange looks, as you say. But do you all really agree with everything your chosen politician thinks? I'm assuming the answer is that you do not. But you chose to support them anyway, because whatever you disagree with isn't your top issue. So if this is the case, is it such a stretch to understand where I'm coming from?

Now, if Obama starts to make a move to take away guns from citizens, then I will fight against him. But I don't think that he will be able to.

Some of us don't disagree about those sorts of things, but most of us hold RKBA as being more important than all that other crap- because what good
does anything else mean, if the government can simply take the other rights/freedoms away by force? (well, at least that's what happens when the people have nothing to shoot back with, after the government gets away with stealing it all. )

A bunch of people hue and cry "oh thatll never happen here!" but they are clearly ignorant of history. Unarmed populaces in the face of tyrannical
governments eventually = genocide.

Well maybe My politician is Ron Paul and YES I agree with just about everything he stands for.

Name an issue and I will most likely stand with Dr Paul on it.

By then it will be way too late. And believe me HE will. think about it His party has control of the house and Senate, How could the cards be stacked any better for them ?

Mike, that's the kind of response that I'm looking for. That's the kind of thing that makes me second guess myself. I'm not here to be stubborn, I'm hear to get opinions that are different than mine.

I take issue with any official that wants to make an effort to ban guns or introduce legislation that prevents me from participating in the hobby I love and more importantly, from protecting myself and my family from wolves (litterally or figuratively). My previous post refers more to the general (not exclusive) attitude I've seen from Obama lovers pretty much since the race became one sided; culminating at the innaugeration. It's scary to me to see so many people gather in frantic celebration of a man who had done nothing but talk about all the promises of change he would bring when elected. It reminded me of a horde of mindless zombies flocking towards a brain buffet. I would venture to say that most of those idiots we saw on tv couldnt name one thing hes changed since being in office. I am willing to take a wait and see attitude with our new president because I'm a realist and really don't have another choice in the matter. But don't sit there and tell me that those mindless automatons didn't scare the shit out of you the same way the crowds at Hitler rallies used to.

Guns aren't the only issue that is important to me, but I think it says a lot about how that person views me as an individual. Why should I support someone who doesn't trust me to keep firearms responsibly and according to state and federal regs that we already have in place? Again more importantly, why should I care about someone who doesn't want me to be able to protect my family from predators?

If you views firearms as tools to keep your family alive if that situation ever came up, maybe you'd feel differently. But it sounds like you don't mind if you get your toys taken away from you.

I can't speak for anyone else, nor would I presume to. My choices in the last election were between a liberal and a socialist. Admittedly, the fact that Dear Leader is anti-gun was one of the main reasons I wouldn't vote for him, but it wasn't the only one, by far. The other reasons have been rehashed here ad infinitum.

I've generally found that a politician's stance on the 2nd amendment tells me a whole lot about how they view citizens in general. Free men own guns, slaves don't. Those who would disarm their fellow citizens are little better then slave owners, no matter how benevolent they make themselves out to be.

Then again, maybe I'm just one of those bitter people clinging to my guns and religion. [wink]

Wait and watch. I truly believe its coming....at least the attempt...under the guise of "in the interest of safety".

No, do not trust "politicians" in general...no matter the party. No, I also do not choose to support them anyway.

Disclaimer: I am a "died in the wool" conservative and make no apologies for it. Would never have voted for McCain until he had Palin on the ticket. Would not have stayed away from the polls, because there are also local and state items that need to be addressed. If not for Palin, would have either left the vote "blank" or would have written in "Elmer Fudd". [rofl]
