Hypothetical: Purchasing Glock 21 with high cap mag

A friend of mine is considering purchasing a Glock 21, from a local MA dealer, which comes with 1 high-cap magazine.

Problem is, he suspects that the mag is post-ban. It has a square notch with the ".45" directly below the notch, almost touching it.
It also drops-free on release.

What the implications of buying said G21 from a MA FFL dealer?

If in doubt don't buy it (the mag that is). However, glock has said over and over that there is no way to tell a post-ban from a preban mag (with the exception of the new ambi ones).

If it's not marked LEO only, doesn't have the ambi notches, and isn't in a newer caliber like .357, then it's preban.
