Hornady Stands Up To New York

Save the trouble of listening to all the gassing off: Hornady stands up to State of New York - Hornady Manufacturing, Inc.

Ronnie Barret sent a "no sales" letter to CA regarding his 50BMGs.

Mark Serbu responded to a NYPD request for a T&E unit with "We will not sell this to any agency in a jurisdiction that does not allow ordinary civilians to buy our guns".

I'm glad to see Hornady is willing to forgo a small profit for their principles. Now, if Federal/Speer and Winchester/would do the same, we might actually get somewhere. If the goon squads don't get their ammo, how will they protect the state that's demanding banks consider firearms and accessories high risk?

I think we should start putting pressure on Federal/Speer and Winchester by sending them emails asking if they will consider following suit with Hornady on this and if they don't, how we won't be able to support a company that supports states that want to make the 2nd Amendment worse than porn.

im wondering just how much hornady supplies direct sales to NY gov agencies? Im going to guess not a bunch. If hornady turns around and says FU NY we don't need your Xmillion $$$ contract to supply your .gov agencies ammo...then GOOD.
Midway did this at one point also with magazines, not sure if they are still holding up those policies
as for Federal/Speer/CCI and some others they need to be careful as they are running on .gov owned property think LC plant.
Im not sure what Winchester actually makes anymore I think Olin just leases out the "Winchester" name to anyone willing to pay. I could be wrong though, I hae not really heard much about Win since they where supposed to open a new plant in Mississippi?

Most of their t-shirts are sold out. Was going to buy one.

Apparel - Hornady Manufacturing, Inc

Thanks for the link/suggestion.
I ordered a t-shirt, even though my usual size was sold out.
I went with a size up.
They're imported, and a lot of times, run kind of small.
I definitely do not have the body for a "fitted" look.
Hopefully, the size up works.

Is this move by Hornady something that could galvanize the pro-2A community, particularly manufacturers, against further attempts to chip away at citizens’ rights, or will another less scrupulous company step up and fill that void?

If enough companies refuse to do business with $hitty states and/or municipalities, I think there could be real teeth to it, but the chain has to be fully linked.

I would think the smaller companies are more likely to get on board, with .gov not really feeling any pain. All it takes is for one big company like Federal or Winchester to realize they can corner the .gov market and they'd be more than happy to be the sole supplier.

While profits are certainly a motivating factor for weapon and ammunition companies, long term solvency should be an even higher priority.

If anti-gun policies targeting financial institutions gain traction these companies will lose even greater revenue in the long run (which is the goal of the gun control D-bags).

Its time for weapon and ammo companies to go on the offensive. If they don't, it will be on them when the industry goes belly up 10 to 15 years from now.

Just remember ATK (federal,CC I and many more ) lease the LC complex from the government. Also what little smokeless powder is manufactured here is done on government property. I'm sure federal, atk, will have no problem continuing production for the .gov. :( We need to get better people back into the gov.
I'm not sure what is made at the Minnesota plant for federal these days?

The Lake City plant is tied in with the Federal gov't, not a state gov't, at least not to my knowledge. Federal/ATK can easily decide to stop dealing with NY state and others and likely not have an issue with their other gov't business.

Don't know about Winchester/Olin either, but they still make the Ranger ammo that's labeled as "Law Enforcement Use Only" so they're clearly selling direct to police and other gov't agencies.

Idk of any agency using Remington ammunition, but given Remington is in NY, they won't rock that boat.

I visited the Hornady plant many moons ago. Pretty cool place to be. VERY friendly people. Just showed up and got a tour. . . and a 50cal Amax bullet. LOL

Good to see them doing this. Would like to see more. Would like to see more states added to the list. (MA, CA, CT) Probably won't happen. The various departments COULD just get bullerts the same way we do. It'll just cost the Constichunsee a bit more in taxes to do so.
