Holyoke revolver club

Lol, guys the threads 2 years old. I feel bad for the op it took 2 years to get a response.

im a member in hokyoke

Its been two years, but I am still around! I ended up becoming a member then I let my membership lapse. My biggest issue with them is the fact that out of the 9 times I went to the range, i was only able to shoot twice. Holyoke revolver club closes the range down every weekend for a good half of the day, especially on a weekend. I like to go out shooting early in the day, especially on weekends. The Holyoke revolver club and their terrible habit of booking/closing the range every weekend during the warm and hot months took far too much time away from my shooting, so I let my membership lapse. If you like shooting when you are able, especially if you like shooting during the weekend days, this is not the range for you.

The other members there are extremely friendly, and I had no complaints about the facility itself, but the range closures happen way to often.

I live very close to the Agawam Revolver Club, but unfortunately for me, they are at max. capacity and are not even accepting anyone for the waiting list. I have heard great things about them from Joe from Personal Defense Specialist in South Hadley. Your comment is something I need to consider because weekend shooting is what works best for me. I appreciate that.

As a member of the Holyoke club, I'm sorry to hear you had a problem. The only two activities that would close the indoor range on a weekend would be the basic pistol course one Saturday a month, and the practical match, which is open to any club member and a lot of fun. Over the last couple of years there was a big backlog of people wanting to take the basic course, and so the club scheduled a second Saturday course for several months. All scheduled activities are listed online in the calendar, and if the indoor range is closed, the outdoor ranges are open. They recently added new sets of dueling trees and falling plates on the outdoor range.

Sorry bud, that’s not true, at least in my experience. I was asked to stop shooting multiple times, when I went to shoot outside. The guy that asked me drove an older Tacoma. He flat out told me that if the clubhouse was occupied, the outdoor pistol range would be closed. He then encouraged me to go to the rifle range, but advised that if someone showed up to shoot rifle, I had to stop shooting pistol. The membership fee was a waste of money.
I will never have anything positive to say about them except that when I was able to shoot (the few times I was able), it was pleasant.

*edit*
Im not flaming you or trying to start a flame war, but your statement in itself proves my point. Most months have 4 Saturdays. Two Saturdays are already tied up with the practical shoot, and the permit class. Then you admitted that a couple of years ago (during the time i was an active member), they had a second concealed carry class. Three Saturdays with the range closed in one month. Just looking at the calendar proves my point. On a month with 28 days, the indoor range is closed 13 times.

Hmmm. I don't doubt your account, and have no reason to argue. As I said, sorry it happened. I related the calendar items I'm aware of, but I'm not there 24/7. I can't think of who drives an older Tacoma, but I guess some guys think they own the place. Wish you'd taken it up with board of directors.

I've been a member at Agawam Revolver Club and have been for about 3-4 years now and it's a great place to shoot. It's always nice and clean there too.
