HARVARD ACCESS

====UPDATE========

Construction has begun on the most commonly used route to HSC which includes Whitcomb Avenue/Littleton County Road. The work has included blasting. So far, they have only closed the road when they are actually busting caps, but we have know way of knowing if they will continue this approach. At this point, we do not know when the project will be complete or if they will change plans regarding weekdays vs. weekends. So far, weekends have been clear and the road has been open, although it is extremely bumpy and broken.

If the normal route is closed, the alternate is to use the route often taken by travelers approaching from the south on I-495.

Take Exit 28 from I-495.
Head west on Route 111.
Go through traffic lights at Swanson Road,
Turn right onto Littleton County Road.
Stay right with Littleton County Road at Oak Hill Road split.
Continue approximately 1.8 miles to HSC on right.

If you normally travel on Route 2 to Exit 39, Taylor Street, you will want
to get on I-495 Southbound and travel 1 exit south to Exit 28, Route 111.
Then proceed as above.

I was at the club this afternoon and saw nothing on Littleton County rd to indicate impending construction. No vehicles, equipment, materials or signs. Maybe they decided to spend the money on something else.

Well, there are a lot of orange markings on the street, which usually indicate that someone is about to dig things up. The road could stand to be re-paved in any case. Or else I need a Truck.

EDIT: Just a quick update. As of last night, there are still no construction vehicles there.

A lot more paint on the road and drilling and blasting equipment parked on the Littleton side. It looks like the fun is about to start.

Still ongoing. From the looks of things, it is going to be quite awhile longer. Grading and paving will likely also result in closures.
