This weeks Worcester Magazine, page 6.

"Of the 1,020 guns used in crimes in Massachusetts that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms traced back to their origin state in 2011, only 351 originated in Massachusetts, according to a Boston Globe report."

I'd like to see the stats for how many criminals in New Hampshire originated in Massachusetts.

So the vast majority of guns used in MA crimes were obtained illegally. In otherwords gun control doesnt work.

Given MA's record on really terrible crimes by people who should have still been in jail, any and all complaints about the lawn tools they used should fall on deaf ears.

They want to point fingers at surrounding states that actually respect civil rights of the law abiding rather than spending all their time protecting criminals, but as we know, crime is about the people that commit it.

I think it is just the culture of criminality of our politicians gives them too much sympathy for their lower brethren.

What if they are unable to trace them at all? What magic column do they fit into?

there was a thread about those stats from a Boston.com article a few days ago

Would still love to see some stats on how many LTC holders commit violent crimes with a gun. Guessing that number would be real small. They always seem to blame the gun and not the person commiting the crime...
The Boston Police commissioner when questioned on this in a public safety hearing said they were not a significant factor. When Senator Brewer asked "less than 10%?" He responded something to the effect of "even less than that."
