I’m not putting down how much I have, but my son and I were talking today and he thought we should buy more. I told him when things come back to normal and I can pick up 5.56 for $0.30-0.40, we can do that. Then I asked how much he though we should have ...... 100K was his answer, and I don’t think that’s a bad goal.

I do know one thing, when I bought PDX 12Ga by the case I thought I might have been silly. When I bought Hornady Defense 00 Buckshot by the case I thought I might need help. When I bought 1000rd ammo boxes of 5.56 early this year ‘because they were in stock’ I thought about getting into a program.

Now I’m thinking I shouldn’t have seconded guess myself and picked up more.........

No, I’m not selling - I have two friends in town that used my 5D Jig that I would share some if things go nuts.

Any hobbyist/ non commercial entity that has to sell their ammo to make rent is in the wrong "hobby". Bird watching might be a better choice.

What was funny was it took us both about 5min to remember and go, "Didn't I sell/buy this from you this last year?"

I see a big diff between a flipper and the, "selling this because I need to pay for divorce, emergency medical for little Johnny, etc. With the 'like' feature though, it's entertaining to see the flippers and their retard pricing get roasted.

Pre ECR (election covid riots) distributors had 10000s of handguns in open inventory. You called or purchased on the web and what you wanted showed up in one or two days. Now essentially nothing is in open inventory. P210s and model 41s and heritage revolvers. Instead if you are a big enough buyer your distributor calls you each morning and offers you what he was allocated that day. I went from 8 distributors to pick from down to one.

I am able to keep up with the higher rate of purchases and keep inventory levels steady but the specifics of what I have have changed. Many of my staple guns I can’t keep stocked so I end up with some slightly odd ball items instead.

I don’t even want to talk about ammo. That is a total crap shoot to try and get.

I have also gone to purchasing some stock at retail from online vendors. Stuff that sells at a slight premium here in communist MA is worth paying retail to get and keep in stock.

LOTS of new buyers, first time buyers, people stock piling, etc. People are scared about what happens if the Dims sweep. We will be talking pre-2021 instead of pre-1994. So demand exceeds manufacturing capacity and the big boys can’t keep stuff on the shelves.

I was at a gun store this past weekend. The guy was telling me he couldn't get ANYTHING from distributors. He was ordering some guns in calibers that he never sold before (I forget the caliber, maybe .380) so he would have something in stock, and people are buying them.

S&W had a regional Sales job opening a few months back (not gun store counter sales). I was thinking of going for it. Maybe I should have. Lol.

It is time to bring back the FP45-Liberator and air drop them.

Some of them are being D-bags. They are taking advantage of people in this forum selling cheap so some can have ammo and then reselling for 2x. A lot of them caught up and stopped offering cheap ammo.

I think the way to work around that is trade or buy from someone you know or are at least acquainted with- if possible. I've made some good swaps and purchases via forum friends and only for stuff I need / they need. Prevents the jackwads from blocking brothers and sisters from helping each other out in an ammo crisis.

There should be a 'flipper' thread so that we can out the d-bags and digitally stone them from the safety of our parents' basement couches. NES needs some good old fashioned burning at the stake, like back in the days when 'Winter' was flamed. FWIW, I bought a couple times FTF from him and the deals were good and he was easy to work with- as good as any NES transaction for me. Others were compelled to dogpile, perhaps for justifiable reasons.

It has happened three times in the past ten or so years.......and that was when mostly people already in the shooting/ collecting realm were buying. Now, there are millions more people shitting bricks over what is going on in the country and a lot more people are arming themselves.
With open declarations by biden, beto, harris, and a host of other commies that they will blatantly violate people's rights and try to take guns away, demand is soaring.

If Biden wins and puts Beto in charge of guns the buying will intensify.

Makes you wonder, then, which candidate is better for the firearms industry.

When Trump got elected, the market took a giant dump, and a bunch of manufacturers who had ramped up production were suddenly laying off people and not making as much profit.

But if Biden wins... we get a few more years of pumped-up production and prices. Worse for us, better (monetarily) for the industry.

If we *also* get a conservative Supreme Court, then by the time the dems can mobilize any real attempt at gun control, it will end up falling flat but the attempts will still drive sales. Again, better for the manufacturers.

There are record level gun & ammo sales going on (through the roof). There are record level background checks going on for gun purchases (ask anyone that has bought a firearm in the last 3 months how long some of them have had to wait).

Long time gun owners (with low stocks of ammo) and especially new gun owners are not buying a 1 or 2 boxes of ammo (like you might see in normal times).

New gun owners are buying because they are scared.
Scared people don't buy 1 gun and 1 box of ammo, they buy sh*t loads of ammo for that gun.
Then they buy more guns, and more sh*t loads of ammo (once they break that "very first gun-buy cherry").

Heck, I remember back when my buddy first got me into shooting back in 2004.

I had 2 pistols (and yes that included a red-haired-step-child Springfield XD LE in 45-GAP), a Remington Tac 870, and an Olympic Arms AR15. They were locked in a gun "cabinet" (not a safe), and I think I had around 6 to 8 boxes of ammo.

If I were in that same position, in lets say between January and March of this year, I'd be going out and buying every gun on my "want" list and sh*t loads of ammo to go with each one. And if that were the case for me, and June/July came around with all the BS BLM riots, I'd be out buying 10X what I bought earlier.
(and IMHO = that is obviously what we've all been seeing)

(Fortunately, It appears that I timed everything just right, as I topped-off buying the last 3 purchases from my firearms "want-list" at the end of last year, and at that same time I was buying my final hoards of ammo = so the ammo fort is definitely topped-off, and where I want it to be).
