I have been thinking for a while about how well the Green membership drive seemed to have worked.
I would like input to the following idea: (Bold Italics are modified areas)
I would start a thread for a GOAL benefit Silent Auction.
Those of you willing would "donate" an item or service to the auction with a minimum "bid" specified in dollars that would be required to obtain the item or service. Bids higher than the minimum would trump the previous bidder to "win" the item.
For Example:
Scouter-Rick : One Seat in NRA Basic Pistol Course with MA Certification - $50
I would hold the "donate an item/service" portion of the program open for 30 days or so and then list all the items/services in the silent auction thread.
The auction would run for a specified period of time and the items/services offered would be provided once proof of an appropriate payment to GOAL was confirmed.
If this becomes a reality I will determine the best way to account for the donations and work with GOAL to see to it the money goes to them.
I am willing to take on the clerical challenge involved with this if it is believed by you as participants that this will work.
