Four guns every man should own

The Uberti sucks. In a fight you'd be better off with ANYTHING ELSE MADE IN THE LAST 100 YEARS. I would literally carry a raven .22 into battle instead. Now if you make any more of these threads I'm going to shit all over them.

I'm really surprised the AMT Backup 380 didn't make the cut here.
[rofl]

That's below the belt in a "will take a week for the 2nd testicle to drop back into correct place after the hit" level... [rofl]

I'll match your AMT Backup and raise you one Taurus Curve.

Now that's a 380 done right.

Realistically, if you can only have four, (which is inherently unrealistic) I would have one bolt action rifle, one semi auto rifle, a shotgun, and a handgun that you can both carry easily and shoot fairly well (service pistol size-ish).

Brother I took my MPR out to the range for the first time 9 months ago right? I had my (now ex - what a sexy girl she was... (sad face).. girlfriend - not a shooter, an old man I call pops who I had met two month's prior, a neighbor kid who never shot a rifle of any kind before, and myself. Brother I put a cheap ass tru-glo from gander on that rifle with no means to make any adjustments considering the downsides of a public range, and none could miss the sam's colas I set on the lower berm at 100 yards. It's an insanely "practically accurate" piece. Practical accuracy to me meaning the kind of accuracy which can be expected casually shooting offhand, perspiring, noise in the background, having to fart as the shot is about ready, etc. It's ergonomics, along with it's rifling, barrel length and balance, etc, in essence it's "package", lends itself to being very forgiving of real world conditions to ensure it's accuracy.
how is it so much different than any other AR, practical accuracy is hits on target a 16x18 in target. All but the most worn out rifle and poor ammo should deliver that

Now are you trying to say you did not zero the rifle , handed it to new shooters and with your instruction where holding 2 moa off hand ..........come on
they should shoot cmp/nra high power they would dominate! 2moa off hand first time out.

I has a 1/8 twist which is going to be OK for heavy bullets, but if you put some generic ammo like American Eagle or Winchester White Box 55g .223 you'll have a wide enough MOA spread (remember, 1 MOA is 2" at that distance - about the width of a can, and you are unlikely to get 1 MOA with 55gr bullets) that popping soda cans at 200 will not be easy. None of this is to imply that the Ruger AR556 is anything other than a great EBR.
Wolf gold 55 gn has pulled off enough moa groups for me that I,know more times than not anything larger is my boogahook fail

Four guns every REAL MAN should own...

1.) 1911 .45 ACP, my own choice is a stainless custom II Kimber .45. The 1911 deserves it's own religion, case closed. The others are great, truthfully they are, even the Rock Islands, but people hate on Kimber because they didn't buy one.
...

First of all, I just don’t understand why anyone would need that many guns to begin with. That’s just crazy, a REAL MAN wouldn’t need a damn arsenal of firearms.

secondly, only half the people who hate on Kimber do so because they didn’t buy one. The other half hate on Kimbers because they bought them and actually tried to shoot more than 100 rounds a year through them and learned that their overpriced gun just can’t hang with many of the less expensive 1911s available like the Taurus. It has all the bells, whistles and features as the Kimber for about half the cost. And, it’s currently the single most used 1911 pistol in all the shooting sports such as IDPA, USPSA, Bullseye, etc. All the top name pros shoot it so it must be the best.

The others are great, truthfully they are, even the Rock Islands, but people hate on Kimber because they didn't buy one. Bought my most recent Kimber, a stainless 2 for 655.00 at Rural King, and by God they deserve the hate for going so cheap. The best.

2.) Uberti 1858 Stainless .44/45 with 8" barrel. There simply is, NO MORE VERSATILE handgun. It should ultimately have 10 cylinders, 4 in black powder, 2 in .45 Colt, and 2 in .45 ACP. This gun gives you the ability to truly hunt. It's a magnum. You have the versatility of black powder, all it's substitutes, round bull, mini ball, full standard .45 Colt, cheaper .45 ACP, and shot shells. Also you can use it as a flare gun, shoot rocks out of it if you have to, and use capgun caps as a last resort for ignition. This is the survivalists gun who hasn't got the means to clean it often.

3. Winchester SXP Defender 12 ga with interchangeable chokes. You need that shorter barrel for handiness and ease of use in tight quarters. You need the chokes for hunting and giving competent patters at longer ranges on game. This is the slickest and strongest pump action on the market. It utilizes a rotary bolt, which is a type used for high powered rifles in both autoloading and slide action rifles. Mossbergs and Remingtons cannot compete for strength, and are mediocre in comparison when it comes to instant handling and follow up shots.

Ruger AR556 MPR.

This is hands down the very best AR15 rifle offered on the market today. Superior to anything the military has on an AR platform. A monkey who can see red, can be taught to pop soda cans at 200 yards in less than an hour.

Hmm
1911, sure i like them and have them good choice. Manufacture can be debated
1858- to broad of a range of "versatility" its bound to not do anything well and seldom work if your constantly changing what you feed it
win shotgun- I know nothing of that model ?
I do have a mid eighties win speed pump,
Ruger AR- the best?
Ruger complete concept of manufacturing is how cheap and how many parts can we make out of injected molded plastic they can not be the "best" will it work and function , yes.

My short list
1911, 357 revolver, rem 870 stick the modified choke in there and leave it in
#4 is tough probably my glenfield 25.

Theres a free entry waiting for you at OCSA modern military match on Sept 13th , heck i will toss another $20 for your ammo
You need 35 rounds. its a good show of practical accuracy.

Wow, that must be some solid training for newbs to hit 2 MOA offhand during their first time behind a trigger. Yeah, they need to get to a competition asap. Top shooters at Camp Perry Nationals always drop a point or two in offhand on targets with a 3.5 MOA 10-ring.

We need more of this around here.

[thumbsup]

mac1911 has been doing this for a while and he definitely backs up what he offers. Who knows how many he has introduced to match shooting via the CMP matches at Old Colony. Count me as one- took him up on a karma a few years ago and have been 'all in' since.

Think about it, you are battling in the mean streets of Boston at lunch time and you drop your sandwich in your AR, you are f*cked. The AK don't give a sh*t, it says "add bacon to That sh*t you p*ssy". These things happen to operators.
