Does a .308 Garand really have that less recoil compared to 30-06?

I tested some light loads in the 308 M1
125gn TNT 41.5 grains H4895 did ok but I had a 2 short strokes so powder bump a bit
SR 10 ring capable for sure. First time behind “full house” loads since OCT

Heres a group with creedmoor 308 167gn
First 2 shots high because My elevation was set from last 200 yard match with what ever ammo I was using then
I was super lazy and just held a little lower, Fat Line Of White hold to get the group in the black
That Left nine was all booger hook malfunction
