We all have a bucket list of guns we want to own during our life. Some people go about aggressively procuring them and some not so much. I definitely belong to to the later category. Of course some guns are much more of a priority than others. There have been only a handful of guns I have felt were a "hey I really want this gun" and the P226 has been one of them.
Back around 1988/1989 a really good friend of mine scored a Sig P226 DA/SA made in Germany. I really appreciated that gun and loved to shoot it. Over the years I have always wanted a P226 and it has been on my bucket list of guns but I never got around to actually getting one, In the last 2 years I have started shooting a lot with a group of guys who are heavy into Sigs and my appreciation of the P226 grew. I knew I was going to South Carolina in May to shoot with a group of almost exclusively Sig guys and the thought of showing up with something other than a Sig was on my mind. Of course I have a tricked out P320 but "plastic" guns don't count. Given that I started looking for just the right P226 but of course the one I wanted isn't on the "list" for MA so not a lot of them are around.
Today I caught up with @SIGaddict and purchased a P226 Legion SAO RXP from him which is exactly what I was looking for. Check one off the bucket list which has been on that list for about 35 years.
The next one on the list is a pre 64 Winchester Model 94 in 30-30. It just happens the same guy who introduced me to the P226 over 35 years ago has one so I just need to convince him to sell it to me.
