We all have a bucket list of guns we want to own during our life. Some people go about aggressively procuring them and some not so much. I definitely belong to to the later category. Of course some guns are much more of a priority than others. There have been only a handful of guns I have felt were a "hey I really want this gun" and the P226 has been one of them.

Back around 1988/1989 a really good friend of mine scored a Sig P226 DA/SA made in Germany. I really appreciated that gun and loved to shoot it. Over the years I have always wanted a P226 and it has been on my bucket list of guns but I never got around to actually getting one, In the last 2 years I have started shooting a lot with a group of guys who are heavy into Sigs and my appreciation of the P226 grew. I knew I was going to South Carolina in May to shoot with a group of almost exclusively Sig guys and the thought of showing up with something other than a Sig was on my mind. Of course I have a tricked out P320 but "plastic" guns don't count. Given that I started looking for just the right P226 but of course the one I wanted isn't on the "list" for MA so not a lot of them are around.

Today I caught up with @SIGaddict and purchased a P226 Legion SAO RXP from him which is exactly what I was looking for. Check one off the bucket list which has been on that list for about 35 years.

The next one on the list is a pre 64 Winchester Model 94 in 30-30. It just happens the same guy who introduced me to the P226 over 35 years ago has one so I just need to convince him to sell it to me.

Never shot one and now I don’t want to :p

I’m honestly not much of a pistol guy, but have always admired the Sigs for their over-engineering. I’ve never to my knowledge ever shot anything made by sig other than my 716i Tread…but I like that rifle a LOT!

I also have a few bucket list guns that I know I’ll probably never have due to cost. An M1C Garand Sniper and a Nazi Luger, for example…but as far as guns that are within my reach, I feel pretty good about what I have currently…and might even admit to slight ‘excess’ if I had anyone to admit that to!
Oh, I thought of one while I was rambling…an antique Swede M96 Mauser with matching parts please ;)

Congratulations on your new pistol OP!

These will be guns I'll be upgrading to once I sell some other ones....I have a lot of lever actions, but always wanted a WInchester. I don't care if its old or one of the quality new ones from Browning.

Colt Python 6" New

Dan Wesson 1911 Specialist or CBob or both probalby if I sell all my 1911's.

Probably a High Grade Beretta small gauge set.

Nice... my 226 and 229 are ones that I sought after for a while too, but once I got them I realized that I didn't really like them.

I think some of my grails are
Daewoo K2, MP5,AC556 - I've never fired them who knows if I'd actually like them or not.
Atlas Titan or Chaos - heck any of them

i really want a good shotgun, a silver pigeon or similar, but the fact that i will probably never ever shoot it stops me every time.

That's always been my issue. I tend to buy something I plan on shooting. I don't have a lot of safe queens with the exception of my Dad's guns because I tend to get rid of them for something I might actually shoot.

Before my son was of age to get an LTC there were a number of firearms that I wanted him to have. The Sig 226 was among them. Made in Germany.

The other handguns I bought for his eventual ownership were a CZ-75B and a Smith & Wesson 29... a Dirty Harry original.

Ok, he's of age and those guns are still in my safe. Maybe when he moves back to MA.

Congratulations! [thumbsup] I'm not personally a 'Legion' kind of guy, but still a big fan of the P226 and P229. Great guns! [rockon]

I got my son a Henry lever action when he was very young too. Now I'm working on my own version of the John Wick guns for him.

BTW... he turned 15 a few months ago and we just picked up his FID last week. He's very excited to have a license.

We got my son his FID at 16. Part of my reasoning was his impending driver's license.

God forbid I leave a box of ammo, spent brass case or, God forbid, a firearm in my car when he used it.

This happened to a friend. His son borrowed the car and drove into Boston. My buddy realized he had left firearms in the trunk of the car from a range trip the prior day. For extra credit the boy was visiting his brother at a Boston based university so the kid had the firearms on school property. He called his son as the young fella was on his way home and strongly suggested he drive very safely and stay below the speed limit.

It happens.

I had a German 226 for a while, but I got rid of it. Traded for a Super BlackHawk.

My bucket list isn't aggressively pursued, either.

1873 SAA in .38 Special and a 16 gauge over heavy rifle caliber are the top of my list.

I’d certainly be interested in a conversation
I see him every Wednesday night , I'll run it by him and get back to you this week. He's always saying that he needs to thin his collection , so if he's interested in moving one , I'll give you his number and you two take it from there.

I have a bunch of shotguns and shoot skeet at least 2 times a week. Hunt a lot every year.

For target, I have some lower grade Browning CXS and A Winchester 101 Target.

I'd like a high grade small gauge set for my retirement years as I'm getting done with 12 gauge recoil.
