Change in DSG ammo policy?

Concur...DSG in Dedham just hands you the ammo...if they have any to hand.

DSG in Danvers fiddles with silly large lockable plastic tupperware lid, swears, mumbles...then gets frustrated and just hands you the clear container with ammo...lid flopping up and down. *

*again under the assumption there IS any ammo to lock into the big clear plastic tupperware.

LOL - It took the guy almost 5 minutes to lock the damn thing at Saugus today, and the cashier and the manager a few more than 5 minutes to open it downstairs.... silly lockable tupperware...

Saugus Dicks escorts you from upstairs to the front checkout with ammo. Could be a city thing, Saugus is wicked anal about anything to do with guns!

I was told they're required to do this to make sure you don't go into the mall. The Saugus location has a 2nd floor entrance that goes into the Square One Mall, and I guess it's a "gun free zone" or ammo isn't allowed in the mall. Anyway, part of Dick's lease agreement is that they have to escort you to the downstairs register and watch you walk out the front door into the parking lot with your ammo.

The Lodge clerk has always brought the ammo up front to the register at the Plymouth store when I have made purchases.

The only time I carry ammo up is as a favor to the customer...There's no policy in the Lodge Operations Manual....I think it may well be store-to-store town-to-town. Perhaps if a store has had an increase in theft, they change policy....

I was walked to the counter at dicks when I bought ammo. This was in the brockton store.

Me too, every time. I wonder if it's store by store based on the license. Some chiefs want every customer escorted some don't care. Or something.

Hmm - I've paid for ammo at Saugus at the upstairs register and walked right into the mall, went to the food court, ate lunch, went back to dicks, bought more ammo (stupid 2 boxes per transaction....), then walked out the front door. The only thing thats been consistent with my ammo purchases at dicks in saugus is the "Ammo freshness container" (I like that...good one number 6 )
