Do you folks clean the primer pockets on your brass when reloading? Specifically .223
but others as well. Rifle vs Pistol/Revolver make any difference?
On .223 once I get to the primer pocket I use a Lee Primer Pocket Cleaner locked in a running drill, then a tiny brush through the flash hole, then 110psi compressed air to blow any dust out. This also makes sure there are no stubborn pices of media in the case body. Works for me.
I alway's tumble before depriming, to prevent that kernal in the flashhole. The pockets never clean up anyway. I do not clean pistol pockets, but alway's uniform rifle with a Midway hand uniformer. It squares off the punched pockets and makes them shiney & bright.
