Yeah, this is a pretty handy wall hack there. Once a person buys it, they change it out to a normal grip frame and have full use of it again.
It was the only way to get a new firearm on their roster.
When I bought my Ruger mk iv here in MA it came with a monstrous, uncomfortable grip, which I quickly switched out for the smaller black plastic one. Apparently it wasn't compliant with the traditional grip-something to do with kids not being able to use it with the big one.
