C5 rapid decompression en route to KBED

Why? Potential decompression sickness, the bends. The lack of oxygen allows nitrogen to to build up in your system. Sometimes, it doesn't take being off oxygen for too long for this to occur.

Yes, Andrews in MD has the nearest AF altitude chamber. We go there every 5 years. I forget if they have 1 or 2 chambers, and I feel like they could hold 15+ people, but I don't really remember. It can be used to for decompression sickness.

They diverted into Westover probably because it was a Westover bird. It isn't going to fly again until maintenance action has been accomplished, so it goes to Westover, which subsequently is the nearest C-5 base and it's home station.
