I've also had some dealers ship to me Priority Mail for like $5. No, they're not supposed to do that; But I wasn't going to complain...

yup and then when it wouldn't fit in my rural mailbox, they leave a pink card and tell me to pick it up at the PO !

Well, I was giving a general figure for handguns, but yeah the distributors seem to get good deals on overnighting.
