5 years ago I would have agreed with you. From what I have seen this administration has worked diligently to purge the military. By no means do I think everyone would fall in line, just think the ratios are different then they were even just a few years ago.

Sad that this is even a topic that is given serious thought.

It will, but not that much.

Most people want security. Soldiers are no different. It’s hard to take a principled stance if it means risking what you’ve worked for.

The regime is clearly not considering Biden in their discussions for how to deal with armed uprising.
For the same reasons the british couldn't carpet bomb their way out the troubles in Ireland a modern civil war would be anything but conventional warfare.

In this tech age a modern civil war would have the empowered faction using mass surveillance and digital blackmail to unleash hordes of real and cyber stasi to silence dissidents. We would see political prisoners held beyond the scope of the law to send a message to others who dare to question their authority before a single shot can even be fired by the oppressed. I mean in a really crazy scenario we may even see unelected, unregulated enforcement agencies attacking and persecuting the opposition party at the behest of their ideological masters.
But luckily this is the US of A baby and none of that could ever happen here.
