I've searched the forum for an answer and have not seen this question raised but I appologize in advance if I missed. I was just wondering if there is any feedback on this topic. I have read that the latest version of model 92FS has some plastic internal parts, (trigger, recoil rod) and believe that earlier production models produced in Italy have same components made of steel. Therefore would it be recommended that an earlier produced(pre owned) variant be sought out as opposed to a nib US produced unit?

The american made 92FS does indeed have some plastic parts... Trigger, Safety Lever, Guide Rod, Mag Release... That said, I have one and haven't had any issues at all because of it (or anything else) It's a great gun, great shooter, great price. Unless you want an authentic Italian model, I wouldn't worry about it.

The newer US ones are fine. Actually, the only problems came with the early American ones where slides were fracturing and injured a couple of SEALs.
