BCM GUNFIGHTER Charging Handle Mod 4
Being a gear whore and tacticool junkie I needed one of these. Well, more than one, but this is the only one I received before they were back ordered...again. I installed it on my fun gun, a RRA Entry Tactical. Up to this point, I've been running a standard RRA charging handle with a standard latch. I looked into putting a badger latch or something similar on it to help with support side manipulation but just never got around to it.
Cue Bravo Company USA’s release of their BCM Gunfighter charge handle. I saw a post about it over on M4c.net a while ago and curiosity became infatuation. I called them up, they put me on the waiting list and 2 weeks later it came in.
I haven't been able to do any live fire with it, but I've been running it through its paces with the drills I can do in the basement.
First impression holding the BCM CH is it just feels "beefy". It just feels a little more there than the stock CH. Using it for the first time, you could feel the advantage of the latch size over the stock CH latch. Its size allows fast manipulation and an accurate hold. When using just the support hand to rack the stock CH, it felt like it would bind or bend a little while pulling back sometimes. When using the support hand to rack with the BCM, it feels solid smooth and straight.
So that's all the real info I have to give now. Hopefully in the near future I can get to the range and put it through its paces.
So on to the porn!

Introducing the BCMGUNFIGHTER™
(VLTOR Patent Pending)
The BCMGUNFIGHTER™ Charging Handle and extended latches feature internal redesigns to direct the force off of the roll pin and into the body of the charging handle during support hand only manipulations. This new design has a built in backstop engineered into the extended latch and into the charging handle. As the latch is opened up, its’ travel is limited by these flat surface backstops. With this travel limiting feature, the stress is taken off the roll pin, and is now redirected into the entire body of the charging handle.
The BCMGUNFIGHTER™ Charging Handle offers two significant advantages.
1. Since the tiny roll pin is no longer the weak point - it is a much stronger system and tactical latch will stay intact even under repeated support side only manipulation.
2. With the force kept inside the body of the handle, when the handle is pulled directly to the rear, it moves directly to the rear and does not angle off to the outboard side. A much smoother operation.
