I shot a .22 pistol that I have a red dot on last week and was reminded how fun and easy it was and figure that since I have a Glock 10mm that has the RMR mount it's time to find an optic for it. What's kept me from bothering is I didn't know what optics were available that can handle the recoil and hold their zero.

For those who have shot with a red dot on a traditional pistol that was a caliber that recoils more than 9mm, what have you found works well?

The red dot doesn't know what caliber is being fired. It only knows slide velocity and slide acceleration.

Get a Trijicon vortex or Holosun or any name brand and it will be fine
