I'm assuming same caliber as well. LOL. That was my first thought. "Well, if you got a heavy 270 and a light 300 and they happened to have the same BC. . . . . "

Haha yes. Specifically, I'd probably look to the same manufacturer as well. For example nosler BT is much less costly than their partitions. Partitions seem suited toward elk, while BT toward smaller animals. Practicing with BT would also be much more cost effective.

I'm guessing at 300 yards is less of a concern compared to say 600 yards.
