Article: What a small handgun teaches us about our fear of creativity

It is a very cool design, but the article fails to mention that a failure to feed can create a much bigger problem in Boberg's design than it would in the "old" designs. Once he has figured out a work around so short-stroking the slide doesn't create a problem that requires a tool to fix, maybe Kimber and Magnum Research will be more interested. www.shootingillustrated.com/index.php/25071/boberg-xr9-s/

obviously the person who wrote that article isnt a gun guy. if he were he would understand the importance of reliability in a conceal carry hangun (or any handgun.) it was concerns of reliability that steered the companies away

It’s obvious, the concerns of Magnum Research and Kimber over such an unfamiliar design’s ability to function or be a viable product are unfounded. Why did they doubt this new innovative idea? Why could they not see this for the innovation it truly was? I call it the stench of creativity.

Maybe not so much in the case of MRI, but you know damn well that Kimber balked at it because they knew their QC isn't good enough to make a product that has QC as a mandated requirement for it to work at all. [rofl]
