Article: Executive Gun Control Will Force the Feds to Monitor Newspapers

"That’s because Obama’s ambiguous rule is not actually targeting online sales, which already require a background check before being completed."

This is wrong.

If two non-licensees want to do a gun transfer and they live in the same state, they do not need to meet in person to satisfy federal law. This seems irrelevant to those of us in the Northeast for 2 reasons.

1) Many of the states require you to meet in person.
2) The states are so small that doing a deal with someone in the same state usually is easier in person.

But out west, where the states are big and state governments don't require any additional steps, people can legally complete a "mail order" or "internet" sale and never meet in person.

I'm not in any way saying that there is anything wrong with this. But lets all get our facts straight.
