I liken to the the after market car audio market. Back 10 years ago, vehicles came with not so good radios so most people upgraded to something aftermarket such as Sony, Kenwood.... Vehicle manufactures started noticing and recently started OEM partnerships or improved their OEM product to the point that it was superior to what was aftermarket.
Colt is making a smart move here identifying there is a fair share of people changing out the stocks, hand guards and so on.
