I am also looking into an AR-10 build for DM work. I have a FN SPR A1A that shoots .43 5 shot groups at 100 but I think I want to go with a Semi-auto.
I was looking at the Magpul stuff for a stock that might be a place to start. Also if you build, the "DPMS" can use the Magpul 20rnd 7.62 mags.
I also looked at Iron Ridge Receivers DPMS style and they look real nice, to me.
Let us know how it pans out.
