Anyone interested in a Sig 225 or 228?

What's the difference between a 228 and a 229?

Not a lot really. They are both the same size and use the same frame and magazines (assuming a 9mm 229).

The 228 has a stamped/rolled steel slide. The 229 has a machined stainless slide. Sig came out with the 229 because the 228 stamped slide couldn't handle .40SW. They then came out with a 9mm 229 in addition to the .40 229.

The 228 and 229 tend to have slightly better triggers than the 226 because of the shorter trigger bar and some say the 228 is slightly better than the 229.

A 225 is like a single stack 228, more or less.

I'm a sucker for 9mm Sigs, but the 228 is really close to the 229, and the 225's 8rnd capacity in the single-stack is a deal breaker for me. Likewise any heel mag release.

My P6/225 doesn't have a heel mag release. It was a West German police import.

My Sig P225 and P228. Both are fine guns. The P225 being a single stack seems to fit my hand better and is easier to carry.
