Antis to stage Starbucks Boycott on Valentine's Day

At Drum Hill this morning. Met up with a bunch of NES'ers. Any excuse to meet some gun owners I may not have met otherwise.

LOL!!!

Sounds like their foot stomping little boycott is a massive fail.

Even their FecesBook page has only 233 "likes"...

On our side...

The Facebook “event” that Levine started with fellow gun-heads Dale Paris and Bryan Reynolds has catapulted to more than 22,000 attendees with more than 2,000 “maybes,” and upwards of 110,000 others that had been invited.

Levine has even suggested using $2 bills to indicate the support for the second amendment; the right to bear arms.

“I’m going to make it rain with $2 bills at Starbucks,” Levine said.

I really like the $2.00 bill idea.

The one in Newton/Needham was bustling... I even picked up stuff for my co-workers. [laugh]

TWtommers & I were there @ about 8:30 this morning, sitting right in the middle talking guns.......no one cared a bit of course. Still, good to get out there, plus I hopped next door & picked this up:

That Glenrothes is VERY nice stuff.....[thumbsup]

As of 7:30 AM EST, the Westford Starbucks was reasonably busy; no fliers out.
As of 7:40 AM EST, the line was almost out the door.

I bought a cup, but that's the worst coffee I've ever drank.

Gracie and I went to the Starbucks at Garden City, Craanston, RI this afternoon; waitress didn't notice anything out of the ordinary as far as business was concerned, but I thanked her and the store for not trying to infringe, anyway. Also picked up a gift card as well as two coffees, just for future use....

Hit up the Huntington Ave one again, but for the misses about 5ish. Nothing going on. Did tip the guy a fiver and said thank you for supporting the 2nd Amendment.

From what I saw, a majority of the comments were positive. There were a few dedicated naysayers (some guitarist named Ron chief among them), but for the most part people seemed supportive of Starbucks.

I was sure to stop by both starbucks located along my delivery and pickup route. (work for fedex). Swampscott and marblehead.

We just got back from Starbucks, O/Cing.

We made a point to thank the staff. One said, "thanks!" with a big smile. One said: "Of course we don't kick you guys out, it's your right!" The other one said: "Is that a FN? I carry a Ruger."

According to the clerk, they'd had several people come in today and mentioned support for 2A. -And this in a tiny little store thay maybe sees 50 people on any given day, so not a bad showing.

Went in around 7:30 tonight. I didn't want a coffee, so got two $10 gift cards (one for my valentine!). I told him I was there to counter-protest the boycott. He said "There's a boycott?". I just told him yes, and figured he could find out for himself.

I emailed Starbucks just to say thanks for this and got the following reply:

Dear Michael,

Thank you for contacting Starbucks.

Thank you for your feedback regarding Starbucks' policy on open carry laws.

At Starbucks, we deeply respect the views of our customers and recognize that there is significant and genuine passion surrounding the issue of open carry weapons laws. We comply with local laws and statutes in the communities we serve. Our long-standing approach to this issue remains unchanged and we abide by the laws that permit open carry in 43 U.S. states. Where these laws don't exist, openly carrying weapons in our stores is prohibited.

As the public debate around this issue continues, we encourage customers and advocacy groups from both sides to share their input with their public officials. We are extremely sensitive to the issue of gun violence in our society and believe that supporting local laws is the right way for us to ensure a safe environment for both partners and customers.

Sincerely,

Matthew
