Annual inspection of all guns owned, what could possibly go wrong....

They will probably ty to pass the cost down to the the owners
Which will be another way to price sportsmen out of ownership IMO
Of course, but even with that, no PD has the manpower to deal with that nonsense not to mention their lack of expertise in firearms to know what and how to do it. No sensible gun club is going to let the PD hog the range for months at a time to do it either.

This one is DOA! MCOPA will kill it in the back room, and for justifiable reasons.

The problem is, they continue to float idiotic proposals KNOWING they'll be shot down in hopes that one or two might skip by unnoticed or because we assumed it was SO idiotic that it would be shot down for us.

Then we're still with yet another law that might or might not be enforced.

It's a pathetic tactic by wholly corrupt elected officials and their employers (aka the anti gun lobbies).

As a practical matter, police chiefs will oppose this nonsense. If 5% of people in Massachusetts, on average, are gun owners, then a city of 100,000 will have at least 5,000 gun owners and most will own at least two or more firearms. That will be over 10,000 firearms to process, on top of routine licensing. Big budget drain and manpower waste. I do not know why Linsky has such an unjustified hatred towards the private ownership of firearms, but his proposals are likely going nowhere.

This, they have trouble keeping up with LTC applications that are once every 6 years.

Shit like this also serves as a distraction from the stuff that has a reasonable chance of passing, and it creates an extra workload for GOAL to keep on top of things.

It's also guaranteed this will be the hot topic of discussion at Wednesdays public meeting, and it wouldn't be productive if we kept on repeating ourselves by having too many people speak out against it when they could be using that time
to address all the other concerns.

Linsky's deal is virtue signaling to his moonbat constituent base, just endless pandering. He is hoping that one of
the BigKids(TM) in the MA house or senate will adopt provisions from his bills into one of the much more dangerous "cabal sponsored bills" so that he can take credit for coming up with the idea, etc. It's all political pandering to him.

This. This inspection Bill will never pass. It will just be used as a compromise. "See we took gun inspections off the table, now you have to limit yourselves to one gun a month." Or some other nonsense.

Exactly. We've seen it so many times. The leftists anti-gunners know how to "compromise" for just half the pie... each and every time... until they own the whole pie. [angry]
