adding firing pin safety to c&r

Anybody ever add a firing pin safety to a c&r or older pistol?

I just got a colt 1908 in 380acp and id love to carry it but I hear stories about it discharging when dropped.

Look at it as an antique car, fun to drive on occasion, but not something you'd probably want to use as a daily driver. You could probably have the Colt altered, but I'm guessing it would be expensive and it would take away some of the essence that makes C&R guns attractive.

You have an excellent excuse to buy a new carry gun! Win-win!

I guess I would have to ask "how often do you drop your guns?" Personally I would never carry a gun that old as my primary EDC, but that's just me.

IIRC, the alteration/modification would also take it out of the definition of a C&R.
