I just saw a promo for "If I only had a GUN", a topic that appears to be in response to the recent incidents. Can't expect the media to instruct us on self defense, can we?

They've been promoting this since before the recent shootings.

I'm not planning on watching it as I've blood pressure issues.

Having one of the bastards for thirty years, you can't trust them as far as you can throw them. Having said that, Stossel is pretty straight. I doubt it will be sympathetic to lawful gun owners, but it might at least present our side

predictions:

they will cite the "gun owners are 40X more likely to be injured by their own gun" statistic.

they will present untrained civillians with difficult self defense situations and draw the conclusion that having a gun is useless because it's too tough to use effectively .

they will have "pro gun" types on the show that will be the mold for the stereotype of "gun loving hick".

they will use the term "high powered weapons" gratuitously.

they will show shots of people at gun shows holding revolvers with 10'' barrels.

conclusion: the amount of subliminal mind f***ing going on in these shows is insane.

My guess the spin will be that the shootings would have been able to be cut short had others had guns in their possesion.

Apparently John Stossel is one of the hosts.

That's good news. Stossel is a pretty big libertarian and he usually peppers in a few jabs at totalitarianism and socialism in his reporting.

Yeck, if the 98% of the other reporters channel their progressive extremist viewpoints, I have no problem with Stossel.

They did a preview this morning on the news along with the recent shootings and I didn't care for the slant and mention of the gun show loophole as well as the comments about how easy it is to get a gun.

Agreed in that he;s our best shot for a fair deal.

Isn't giving someone money to buy guns a felony? And doesn't he have to report that money as a gift on his income taxes?

Over the course of the hour, Samaha purchased 10 guns: three rifles, four shotguns, one handgun. He could have purchased many more handguns, but he wanted to abide by Virginia State law, which allows the purchase of one handgun per month, and two assault weapons.

[thinking] Hmmm. 3 rifles + 4 shotguns + 1 handgun = 10 guns. Am I missing something?

What truly sucks in this article is the appeal to emotion. When emotionality comes into play, you might as well throw rational logic and reasoning out the door.

This poor kid lost his sister to some armed maniac and he still supports banning guns on campus?! How could he not understand that if people were able to carry on campus many lives, including his sister's, could have been saved. The logic of banning something so that others won't do harm with it is intellectually retarded.

i'm probabally going to watch it, I hope I do not shoot the TV/ JUST KIDDING YOU MOONBATS! OR DU posters.......... 0h oh......looks like its tomorrow, cool. DemUndergorund Obama moonbats I mean!
