Hey guys, I never see anyone talk about this topic at all ever. How does standard 40 S&W loads, such as 165 grain and 180 grain compare to 45 +p, such as 185 grain +P; how do they compare in terms of recoil?

If you had to do five quick shots on target out of a 1911 would you go with 40 or 45 and why

I'd have to be willing to own/shoot 40 S&W to have an opinion on this...
Sorta feels like the exchange "tastes like sh*t", "how do you know what sh*t tastes like?" You have to admit to shooting 40 S&W enough to have an opinion
40 is short and weak. A liberal version of 10mm....But it's too snappy for everyone.
Even if you're used to a 45, a 40 feels like a bazooka and sounds like a cannon. The recoil bruises your hands, and the brass flying past your face is disorienting. The one time I shot a 40, the explosions gave me a temporary form of PTSD, and I felt irritable and anxious for hours. The smell of N320 and sulfur made me sick.
