I picked up a box of Hornady 75 grain A -Max .224 bullets that I want to load for my AR (1/8" twist, 24" barrel length).

Can anybody recommend a powder, charge weight, and OAL?

The A-Max is typically loaded longer than will fit in an AR magazine. You want it close to the rifling. I shoot mine about .010 off the rifling. You can use a Stony Point tool to get the OAL or you can smoke a bullet and then try trial and error. You can also load them very long and work your way backward based on smudges on the ojive. Than can be a PITA though. If you go too long the bullet will jam and you will need a cleaning rod just to open the thing up and extract the case.

I've used R-15 with them with good results. 24.5gr with a Rem 7 1/2 BR or CCI match primer in a LC case.

I'll find the OAL but I use the 75 gr. A-Max for long range slow fire plate shooting. (20" 1/8 Wilson barrel.) As listed, OAL is 2.390.
