I have no concerns what-so-ever about running with the big dogs. My goal (which I am sure I will attain) is just to have a good time.
So, does that make Matt the RI State HO?

and John, it was $633, which pays for the pile of bullets I just bought to last me through the sectional match, and have a few left over for next year.
I'm happy to see such a high round count.

You should spend that on new brass.

Matt,
Maybe you should buy some new brass with all that cash!
$633 worth of bullets would last me at least a year & 1/2.......
The round count is not the upcoming issue,
Summer Blast was approx. 250, out the door in 5 hours,
The issue will be keeping all the trick stages up & running......
We all are thankful for the great matches Harvard puts on!
However,
Big events have to plan for the volume of shooters as well as putting on challenging stages.
5.1 put me over 190 pf........
4.9 is still over 180
I'm going to try 4.8 when the rain stops.......
Try going down to 4.6-4.7 and work up. I was always 4.7 for 168pf. I think Scott could make it comfortably with 4.6.
1.165. 1.150. What kind of sissy cartridges are these? Anything less than 1.200 isn't worth putting in the magazine.

So you're saying it's not the size of the wave but the motion of the ocean that counts?Overall Length has nothing to do with cartridges being sissy or not. It's only the power factor you load it to that makes a sissy round.

Scott,
It's not just .40's that slow down with wear. They all do. Accuracy may not suffer, but velocity sure does.
Gammon had so many lead .45's through one gun he had to add a couple tenths to the original powder charge. Accuracy was still good even after almost 100,000 rounds. He shot a lot!
Unfortunately, I also changed bullet MFRs (West Coast to Ranier) so I can't be sure whether this is barrel wear or the effect of a different bullet (the Rainier does have more bearing surface).
