UPDATE: 2 Indiana judges shot in White Castle parking lot downtown

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Two Indiana judges were shot in a White Castle parking lot downtown early this morning.

The shooting happened around 3:20 a.m. at the 55 West South Street location.

Witnesses say they heard an argument prior to hearing gunshots.

One of the men is critically injured, and the other man is awake and talking.

Investigators haven’t found a gun, and they’re trying to figure out if the two men shot each other or if someone else shot them.

Both of the gunshot victims are judges in Clark County, Indiana. They are in town for Spring Judicial College which starts this morning.

IMPD says the two men were involved in a disturbance at a nearby bar that followed into the parking lot. The disturbance continued at which time both judges were shot. Detectives do not have information to believe this incident was related to their judicial duties.

IMPD: 2 arrested after 2 judges shot outside downtown White Castle

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) -- Police say two men have been arrested after two judges were shot last week.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department has arrested 23-year-old Alfredo Vazquez and 41-year-old Brandon Kaiser in the case.

Brad Jacobs and Drew Adams, judges from Clark County, were shot in the 50 block of West South Street just before 3:30 a.m. on May 1.

Police said that the suspects tried to get into the locked White Castle building and words were exchanged between the suspects and victims before a fight broke out. The fight resulted in the judges being hospitalized after being shot.

Mugshots have not been provided for the suspects. Online records indicate they are due to appear in court on Wednesday morning.

No charges to be filed 'at this time' against suspects in shootings of judges

NDIANAPOLIS (WISH) -- The Marion County Prosecutor's Office said Friday no charges will be filed at this time in the shootings of two Clark County judges at a downtown Indianapolis White Castle earlier this month.

“We have received the results of the investigation conducted to date, including video retrieved from surveillance cameras. At this time, we have determined that additional investigation must be completed before we can make a charging decision in the matter,” said Marion County Prosecutor Terry Curry in a statement released to News 8.

Clark County judges Brad Jacobs and Drew Adams were injured in the shooting May 1.

Alfredo Vazquez and Brandon Kaiser were later arrested in connection to the shootings.

The prosecutor's office said the hearings for Kaiser and Vazquez remained scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday.

No other comments have been released at this time.

I preached this to my kids and will repeat for anyone ‘young’ enough to party until the wee hours: ALWAYS GTFO before closing time and don’t hang out somewhere that collects post-closing time drunks. In college I worked as a bouncer in downtown St. Louis and 99% of the bad sh!t happened at or just after closing time. Otherwise you exponentially increase your chances of ending up in jail, the hospital, or in a bag.

Maybe the judges were running their mouths as if they were in their courtroom rather than a parking lot at 3am? Welcome to the real world guys.
serious question. what were two (assuming male) judges doing in a White Castle parking lot at 3:20am? the place was closed so they weren't their for a burger. And on a Wednesday morning?

3 Indiana judges suspended without pay after White Castle shooting incident

An alcohol-fueled evening in May that resulted in two Indiana county-level judges being shot in a White Castle parking lot has resulted in the two male judges, plus a female judge, being suspended without pay, according to reports.
Judge Andrew Adams was suspended for 60 days, while judges Bradley Jacobs and Sabrina Bell were suspended for 30 days. All three judges will be reinstated to their respective positions when their suspensions end

“Respondents’ actions were not merely embarrassing on a personal level, they discredited the entire Indiana judiciary.”
