10/22 help

I can not free the Bolt-stop pin from my new 10/22 to remove the bolt. I have tried a punch but it still will not budge. Any tips?

If you can't get a 10/22 question answered over there, then there is no answer.

That's a new one on me. It's not a press fit pin or tapered. Normally, that pin should come out very easily.

Try hitting it with some Kroil or penetrating oil a few times and let it soak in overnight.

Just a guess, but you may have peened the pin over while whacking it.

More likely caught just enough of the edge of the aluminum receiver to peen it over the pin.

Now do the gun a favor and replace it with a bolt buffer.
