Would a 5.56 charging handle fit in a m&p15-22?

hey i was wondering if this charging handle http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/77134-1.html would even fit in a 15-22 or if would be too big or something im not sure please let me know

It will not fit at all.

The charging handle of the M&P15-22 is little and short.

They reason I did not buy the mp15-22 ,I would have been all over a S&W complete upper that takes standard parts minus the bolt and attaches to any milspec lower. Also not useing Blackdog machine mags was another reason. Im trying to find the link....I did come across someone makeing a tactical/ambi charge handle for the mp22
