...and I got some pictures of the old Winchester Repeating Arms factory.
I was across the street, but they had pictures on the wall from many years ago

I told the guard I had taken pictures of it myself just then, but these pictures were better than mine :)

It's a neat old building, with a lot of history.
Anyway, I figured folks here might like the pics :)

I would have loved to see it while it was working in the era those old pixs were taken

That third photo looks to have been from sometime around 1915.
Yea, you can date it from the "Women's Suffrage Parade" sign. You can see a woman speaking to the factory workers I guess about the case for women voting :)
Just out of the frame at the left on the 4th picture is where that doorway is (from pic 3), as far as I can tell. Wish I got a picture of it now :(.

Got a picture today of the entrance from pic 3, the women's suffrage rally.

Just watched the "Winchester" Modern Marvels - on my DVR last night.
Thanks for sharing the pics.

That area today is an urban area, somewhat high crime. The empty space you can see behind it is where Albertus Magnus College is, and just further over the hill is Yale(the Peabody Museum on Whitney Av), and downtown New Haven. I wish I had looked at the caption closer for a date... maybe next time I am in the area :p But, it was a loong time ago when New Haven was a lot smaller.
Anyway, glad you enjoyed the pics, and history .. The history is why I like these pics, and looking at that building.
They finally closed it down just a few years ago.
